Timeless

Timeless was a solo exhibition of Dr Esther Mahlangu's work presented at the Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein in 2019.

The exhibition gathered paintings spanning several decades, tracing the continuity of a practice rooted in Ndebele mural tradition yet constantly renewed on canvas. The title spoke to the enduring relevance of Dr Mahlangu's visual language — at once deeply traditional and strikingly contemporary.

Presented by one of South Africa's national museums, the exhibition affirmed Dr Mahlangu's standing within the country's institutional landscape.
