Honorary Doctorate — Durban University of Technology

In 2018, the Durban University of Technology (DUT) conferred an honorary doctorate on Dr Esther Mahlangu.

The honour recognised her contribution to the arts and her role as a cultural ambassador for South Africa. The doctorate from DUT joined the one conferred by the University of Johannesburg the same year, together affirming Dr Mahlangu's standing within South African higher education.
